A Cave Begets a Tree (Digital)
Welcome to 30: Issue 01
36 pages · PDF · Instant download
A digital edition of my first ever zine, A Cave Begets a Tree. This is also the first zine in the Welcome to 30 project, a project that documents the experiences and learnings of my 30s.
A Cave Begets a Tree is essentially taking stock of who I am as I begin my 30s. There was no predetermined theme at the outset of this project and I captured whatever I naturally gravitated towards. I have found that this also becomes reflective of my daily life—how am I living? What is my lifestyle?
The result is a visual exploration of who I am as I enter my 30s. A core element I have identified is that I am extremely relational so I have organized this zine into chapters that explore myself in the context of various types of relationships. There are thoughts on extraversion, friendship, family, love, and managing feelings of isolation.
Please note, this is a digital copy of the zine in PDF format.
All photos were taken on the Leica M-P 240 and Voigtlander 35mm f2 Ultron.
